Being "Grounded" can have two different meanings.

1. Being fully present

and/or

2. Feeling connected to the earth

I have always loved nature and being outdoors. I have also always a had a special love for the ocean. The sounds ,

the smell, the rhythmic rolling of the waves. It has always been so healing for me . My soul is tied to the sea. It is truly healing.

We share a symbiotic relationship with nature and the planet , it's vibration, it's energy . Literally EVERYTHING around us is energy.

What an amazing connection. Ever wonder why it feels so good to sink your feet into the hot sand on the Beach,

or feel cool damp grass beneath your bare feet? It just feels like "home" doesn't it?

You did it as a kid, admit it ... you loved it! Little did we know we were actually grounding and connecting

with the earth's vibrations and energy.

But somehow we grow further and further away from

that connection. How does this happen? How did we get here to this numb , burnt out place?

Work harder, sleep less, grind , grind , grind .... society seems to take pride in these things.

Like you get a special badge for sacrificing everything in life to do more and make more, feel less.

Moving through life like robots , we don't even stop to take a breath or take in life's beautiful energy.

Losing our awareness of the things that truly matter . Total disconnect .

We wake, throw on shoes, mindlessly toss some fast processed "food" item in the microwave then gobble it down.

We sit at desks all day with little to no movement.

We work hard to earn money to buy things we don't truly need. Again, total disconnect. Let that sink in for a minute.

How do we get grounded and return to the present moment? You may not always have time to kick off your shoes and sink your feet in the grass

or stroll along the beach bare foot , but there certainly are other simple ways to get and stay grounded

in an otherwise ungrounded world.

Some of my favorite tips for getting Grounded:

* Nurture with Nature: Being in nature is incredibly healing , so get out in it and do it OFTEN. Go to the beach ,hike, bike, backpack,

go camping , whatever your thing is...That thing that sparks your soul... just do it!

* Exercise: Move your body and move it often! The benefits of movement are innumerable. Yoga, strength training, walking, hiking, biking .

* Nutrition: Try to focus on eating whole foods whenever possible and minimize packaged foods that have a long list of ingredients

that can't be pronounced. Make preparing your meals a mindful and meditative time.

* Meditation : If you are new to Meditation , then try checking out some guided Meditation videos. Take at least a few minutes daily to just

focus on breathing, turn on some chill music, let go and disconnect from the daily chaos we call life. This is especially important during times of high stress.

* Saying No: / Setting boundaries: Prioritize your time and don't be afraid to say no.

* Salt Bath: Besides soothing muscle soreness ,Himalayan salt baths are relaxing , detoxifying and some believe they can bring spiritual,

mental and emotional balance by purifying your body of negativity.

* Letting go of " Stuff": Purging old items that do not serve a purpose or bring me happiness is one of my favorites. Less really is more.

* Practice Gratitude : Studies show that practicing gratitude

ree

improves physical health, psychological health and enhances empathy for others

by actually rewiring your brain. When a negative thought starts, replace it with gratitude for something, no matter how small. There are

so many things to be grateful for.

Be Mindful in everything you do ~
